The
race is downhill along the steep street where their driving abilities are put to test, there are two categories,
Junior and Senior "Grand Prix" Njivice, and since this is carnival
competition each "karet" is
unique in its own way.
After
the race, the participants and the faithful audience gather at the square in
Njivice where another competition is taking place, but this time in the
culinary skill of "Fritule". Fritule is a festive Croatian pastrys,
they resemble little doughnuts. It is a competition called
"Fritulijada" where many people want to participate so there are many
local craftsmen attempt to make the most sophisticated "fritula" that
will eventually be judged by an expert jury.
