The
Church of St. Joseph in Voz was erected in 1784 by Nicolò Baffo on his own
estate as a place where the Sunday liturgy could at least occasionally be
performed, probably for the needs of those who participated in the seasonal
tuna fishing, which in the past regularly took place here. The chapel, located
in the immediate vicinity of the sea, next to the former ferry port, brings the
people of Omišalj together on 19 March, the feast day of St. Joseph. The
building is exposed to the bura wind and other weather conditions and therefore
requires frequent renovation. It was significantly extended in the early 19th
century in the spirit of classicism, with a tall bell gable above the façade.
