The FesTra Festival, organised by Njivice Resort and Omišalj
Municipality Tourist Board, brings together numerous exhibitors who present traditional
products of the island of Krk, such as olive oil, cheese and various lavender
products. The festival takes place during three weekends and includes
performances by folklore societies from the island of Krk and guests from all
over Croatia.
They present traditional songs and dances as well as typical dishes from
individual Croatian regions. The festival includes various workshops, such as
wool felting and the making of lavender souvenirs. Visitors can also learn the
basics of the Glagolitic alphabet and traditional musical instruments from all
parts of Croatia. The island of Krk is home to the Frankopan noble family, which
is why the Count of Krk Mikula Frankopan regularly visits the festival with the
Countess and knights.
