The
BIG OM Omišalj Cup was first held in 2006. as the only event of its kind in the
northern Adriatic. A group of passionate fishermen were convinced it would be a
success – and they were not mistaken. The Omišalj Big Om continuously attracts
both new fishing enthusiasts looking for unforgettable big game experiences and
fishermen who know that the biggest tuna in the Adriatic can be found in these
waters.
The
BIG OM, an international big game fishing competition, takes place on the last
weekend in August in the waters of Kvarner Bay and brings together numerous
teams from Croatia and abroad. Since the BIG OM is part of the Offshore World
Championship (OWC), the winner is entitled to participate in the big game
fishing world championship.
